All personal information collected in OHPF app is subject to the following Specific Privacy Statement, accepted by the data subject prior to the collection of his/her personal data, and is published with his/her unambiguous consent.

Specific Privacy Statement

1. Description

OHPF app enables the collection of crowdsourced data about reviews of purchases and sellers. Since OHPF app collects and further processes personal data, Regulation (EC) 45/2001, of the European Parliament and of the Council of 18 December 2000 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data by the Community institutions and bodies and on the free movement of such data, is applicable.

2. What personal information do we collect, what is the legal basis, for what purpose and through which technical means?

Identification Data:

The personal data collected and further processed may include: Device IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identify) or Vendor Identifier Number.

Additional Data:

Current location, human generated data such as, ratings of purchases.

Legal Basis of processing:

– The European Parliament and Council Decision of 18 Dec. 2006 on the EC 7th Research Framework Programme (FP7) (2007-2013).
– Registration and participation of data subjects are provided on a purely voluntary basis.

Purpose of processing:

The purpose of the processing of all aforementioned data is research into how consumption affects happiness and everyday sharing practices.

Technical Information:

The data is collected via OHPF mobile app.

3. Who has access to your information and to whom is it disclosed?

Anonymized data in available to the researchers at University of Bristol (Bristol, UK) and Università della Svizzera italiana (Lugano, Switzerland).

4. How do we protect and safeguard your information?

The collected personal data is stored on the secured servers.

5. How can you verify, modify or delete your information?

Since the collected data is anonymous, it is not possible to identify and delete your data after submission. However, an OHPF app user may at any point stop the collection of data by simply stopping entering data into OHPF app.

6. How long do we keep your data?

Your personal data will remain in the database until the end of the project or for a maximum of 4 years starting from the registration of a new device to our database.

Collection of Anonymous Traffic Data on OHPF Websites

When someone browses the OHPF Websites (ohpf.me and hxresearch.org) anonymous site usage information is collected via various technical means. The usage of the site is recorded in log files. These files contain no personal information, nor information about which other sites the visitor has browsed. They allow project team to improve the service by knowing its usage, and are processed anonymously.
